Mother Nature’s Wrath
This last weekend was a little scary. I woke up to a loud pop and sparks flying around my bedroom at 1 am Saturday. Turns out a power surge burst two extension cord/surge protectors in my house. Once I figured out what happened, I pulled them both and threw them out back into the snow. Take that! Then I piled more blankets on top of Mags and me and went back to sleep. My power returned around 8 am.
What a frightening way to wake up. I consulted an electrician and he explained how that happened and that I was okay to stay in the house.
I was concerned that my computer was destroyed. During inclement weather or horrible fire seasons, I must be able to work from home. Thank goodness everything is fine and I can still do everything I need from my house.
With all the weather disasters happening all over the globe, I feel very lucky to live here in the high desert. If I’m prepared, and I think I am, I can weather these storms with relative ease. Stay safe out there and keep extra blankets.
As if living here isn’t wonderful enough, come along on our Atomic Road trip across Northern Nevada!
